Zoysiagrass is another warm-season grass that has gained popularity in recent years due to its durability and low maintenance requirements. It forms a thick, lush turf that can withstand heavy foot traffic and recover quickly from damage. Common varieties include Meyer Zoysia and Zeon. This grass type is often used for tees, fairways, and roughs where its resilience is particularly valuable.
Fescue: The Cool-Season Choice
Fescue is a cool-season grass commonly used for roughs and natural areas on golf courses. Its deep green color and ability to thrive in shaded or partially shaded areas make it an attractive option. Fine Fescue and Tall Fescue are two varieties often seen on golf courses.
